SUBSTITUTIONS is a distributed database management system that manages information about the drug substitution delivery for heroin addicts in multiple swiss cantons. The project is a mandate delivered by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and Sucht Schweiz (Addiction Suisse)

The software system allows for optimizing the management of drug substitution delivery and provides useful tools in the domain of epidemiologic research. Thanks to a sophisticated data acquisition, classification and valorisation system, the researchers of the Sucht Schweiz are able to get a better understanding of the evolution of the patients thet undergo such a treatment.
