Context

This project follows up on the "Map of the organizational impacts of health technologies" established for the Haute autorité de santé française (the French equivalent of SwissMedics) by focusing on intangible organizational impacts on caregivers' practice and workload.

Solution 

A questionnaire aiming at assessing the perception of healthcare providers was developed following the COSMIN methodology. The questionnaire presents healthcare providers with 49 items subdivided in 12 dimensions. The questionnaire was tested for relevance, as well for internal and external validity by 153 healthcare providers of two different Swiss hospitals. Only 11 of the 49 items were selected as relevant to assess healthcare providers' perceptions. Other studies are underway in order to check if results are different with other devices and healthcare providers.
